Patient Care Technician Classes

Patient Care Technicians

Patient Care Technicians provide personalized care to individuals in outpatient and inpatient facilities under direct supervision of nurses and physicians. Similar to nursing assistants and medical assistants, patient care technicians also have a wide range of clinical patient care duties such as bathing and feeding, distributing medicine and other supplies, maintaining room cleanliness, drawing blood, and assisting with patient exams. However, our patient care technicians are trained to read electrocardiogram (EKG) machines and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). If the dynamic world of medicine and patient care excites you, join our training program.

Medical Assistant Classes

Medical Assistants

Medical Assistants work alongside physicians and other healthcare professionals performing various clinical and administrative duties in order to ensure maximum hospital efficiency and patient care. The demand for medical assistants is growing in the United States. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the national projected growth is expected to increase 19 percent by 2029 – much faster than the average for all occupations. The increasing demand for physicians and outpatient facilities are largely responsible for this growing demand of medical assistants. The more assistants a physician hires, the less time they have to spend performing administrative and clinical duties – freeing up more time to spend with patients. All three of our locations offer hands-on training and real-world experience in both administrative and clinical areas to help you excel in a career as a medical assistant.

Some of these clinical duties include:

  • Preparing patients for exams
  • Assisting physicians during exams
  • Drawing blood
  • Collecting lab work
  • Removing sutures and changing dressings

Some of these administrative duties include:

  • Answering phones
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Managing billing and bookkeeping
  • Filing patient medical records
  • Arranging laboratory services
